Is Capitalism The Best System We Have?

With a tracking record of 4 billion years, Earth’s most successful system is, without a doubt, Evolution by Natural Selection. At the basic level the way it works is that it produces enough variance in its products (species) that it doesn’t matter what the future conditions are, some elements will inevitably survive and pass their genes down the line. In other words: Evolution by Natural Selection is agnostic in regard to the future and as such it will always win the biological “game” against nature.

Let us see how the 3 economic systems compare to Evolution by Natural Selection

In Communism the production and distribution of wealth are completely centralized, denying the players any kind of freedom. This is as far as we can get from Evolution by Natural Selection and have, unsurprisingly, produced the worst humanitarian and moral disasters in human history.

The Socialist doctrine leave the citizens free to spend their wages as they please but control the mean of production and the redistribution of wealth. Although not as disastrous as Communism, Socialism have resulted in major crisis, the latest in Venezuela.

Capitalism, unless tampered by Governments, leaves complete freedom to its players in how wealth is created and distributed. No country has ever adopted (yet?) a pure capitalistic system but those who have embraced it…
