How Much Does Heart Surgery On A Child Cost?

Recently Obama called TrumpCare “a transfer of wealth”. Although he forgot to mention that ObamaCare did exactly the same but in a different direction, he’s technically right: even in the richest country in the world resources are finite hence every adjustment to the health system is by definition a transfer of wealth from one group of citizens to the other. In the classrooms of Economics they would call this a “zero sum game.”

Obama also didn’t use the word “wealth” by accident. The accuracy for such vocabulary can be easily understood by reading a crying mother detailing the costs of her 5-years-old child’s heart surgery.

A million dollar, plus change.

To put that in context, the average cost of a house in the richest country in the world, aka USA, is $189k or 1/5 of a child’s heart surgery. Dems and Republicans surely disagree on how to fix the problem but we can all agree that healthcare has only one fundamental problem: is too expensive.
